Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026 · Effective: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SLIPS TECHNOLOGY LTD ("Slips", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the Slips mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using Slips you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Slips is operated by SLIPS TECHNOLOGY LTD, registered in the United Kingdom (company no. 17178759), at 7 Zetland Street, Southport, PR9 0SB. For any privacy question, contact our data protection lead at hello@slipsapp.io.

2. The information we collect

3. How anonymity works

Slips are shown to the recipient anonymously by default. However, to operate the Service safely and to power the optional paid "reveal sender" feature, we retain the identity of the sender on our servers. We only disclose a sender's identity where the sender chooses to reveal themselves, where the recipient uses the paid reveal feature (where offered), or where we are legally required to do so (for example, a valid law-enforcement request relating to threats or abuse). Anonymity toward other users is never a promise of anonymity toward Slips itself or law enforcement.

4. How we use your information

5. Legal bases (UK/EU GDPR)

We rely on: contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to keep Slips safe, secure and improving), consent (for contacts access, push notifications and marketing, which you can withdraw), and legal obligation (to comply with the law).

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. Where required, third parties provide equal protection of your data as described in this policy.

7. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time — in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or via our account & data deletion page. When you delete your account we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. UK/EU users may complain to their local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of "sharing"; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact hello@slipsapp.io.

9. Children & age

Slips is intended for users aged 17 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Security & international transfers

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. Where data is transferred outside your region, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, notify you in the app. The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision.
